Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Gas nozzle incident

I recently drove off (3 feet)from a gas pump with the nozzle still engaged in my car. The hose ''broke away'' while still in my car. When it happened I stopped and gave the attendant all of my info. I just got a letter stating that I owe 174 for the part and labor... Am I liable? Do I have to pay this? Is it better to go through my insurance? Dont they have insurance for this type of thing?

Re: Gas nozzle incident

From what you describe, you would be responsible for payment of the cost of repair. I suggest you contact your insurance company for guidance. Most likely this falls below your deductible, but you should verify what your coverage is.

All the best,

Bryan
