Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

I signed a 1 year contract for a martial arts service. However I do not believe I was fully informed that this was in fact a contract, I was rushed into signing it and now when I am trying to cancel that I am being told I cannot do that. What is an appropriate means of action here?

Are there any laws that may nullify an agreement if in fact the consumer refuses acknoledgement that the paper signed is an actual contract?

That's completely ridiculous. Don't be rushed. Watch what you sign, and read what you sign, from now on.
