Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Custody

I am a Saudi citizenship, living in Saudi Arabia, I was married to a Philippine lady, we were living in Saudi Arabia,we have two girls, 11 years and 5 years. I divorced my wife from Muslim court. Since then we been good friends, she got married to US citizenship and she is getting her US nationality soon. We call each others in the phone, and I send her money from time to time, and I manage to let her see the kids every year in a country between Saudi Arabia and the states, I took care of all expenses.

Now, I am planning to visit the US with my kids, but my concern that she might take the kids, she promised me that she wont do it, and to trust her, so we could visit there every year, also she doesnt have enough income to support them, and her husband wont allow them to live in his house.

I wonder if I ask her to write an authenticated affidavit where she attest that she grant me 100% the custody of the kids, will this certificate be enough for me to have peace of mind when I visit the US with my children. And if so, what kind of affidavit and endorsed by whom..
