Re: Give ME THE RIGHTS to the familly business

depending upon the type and size of the business it may make good sense to give the business to dad. If he has been running the business during the marriage mom may not in the best position to run the business. That does not mean that mom does not get paid for her one half interest in the business. Also it appears that this was a lengthy marriage. This would require the court to order him to pay spousal support until mom is able to earn an income similar to his. By keeping the business dad's income should be higher and this would result in higher spousal support. Mom's attorney should explain to her and possibly you how she is being compensated for her interest in the family business.
