Legal Question in Family Law in California

spouce abouse

My spouce and I were in a fight, and I called the police. When they got here he was gone and I had a bite on my arm. I didn't press charges but they did. I kneed to know what to do to stop any charges or the best way to handle this. I don't blame him and don't want him to go to jail. What should I do? Please help me. I don' know anything about the law.

You'll need to speak with the police and/or prosecutor about dropping the charges. If they refuse, there's not much you can do about it. They take spousal abuse seriously, and given that your husband bit you, maybe you should think about why you're with someone who'd behave like that. Surely you deserve better treatment?
