Threat of being sued for slander

My sister, who has been under psychiatric care for over 20 years is threatening to sue me because I told her and others ( my friends) that she needs to be on Lithium. She is currently taking Celexa(an antidepressant,Clonopin ( for anxiety and panic attacks) and Trazadone ( an antidepressant used as a sleep aid) Can she do this? She resides in Illinois and I am in California.

Re: Threat of being sued for slander

There are several issues regarding the proper forum, but assuming she files suit in California then you would be compelled to defend yourself and your rights.

Whether she will collect anything is a different issue, but it is not difficult for a complaint to be filed forcing you to defend the matter.

Please feel free to call on me (my name is Katch) if you need any assistance in defending this matter.
