Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

When being detained

Can only a lawyer represent an individual who has tried to cross someone thru the border without papers? The individual who did the act has a green card to expire in 2007. Can they be reprensented by a friend, me? I know nothing about the process nor am I law literate.

Laypersons cannot legally represent the legal interests of others, only licensed attorneys can. if you/your friend would like prompt, affordable legal assistance in this matter, contact our Law Office today for a free phone consultation.

Re: When being detained

Only attorneys can represent someone else! Besides, the court or immigration authorities will not deal with you if you're not an attorney, and even worse, know nothing about the law. Especially when your friend is being detained for alien smuggling? Then, he really needs legal representation to prevent serious legal consequences to his freedom or the ability to stay in this country.
