Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

I-90, Renewal of 10 year Green card

Hello

I have had green card for 10 years and the card is about to expire in a few months.

I read instruction of I-90 from USCIS web site.

It says, I might have to be interviewed. I wonder in what cases I have to have an interview? I do not have any criminal record, but I do not speak English well. I saw in news paper that some people got deported during green card renewal process.

One more thing, If I hire a laywer to renew my 10 year green card, what would be the going rate?

Thanks

Re: I-90, Renewal of 10 year Green card

The Immigration Service conducts interviews before renewing Permanent Resident Cards ("green card") only after determining irregularities such as: Criminal record, physical presence outside of the U.S. for a period longer than permitted to preserve permanent residence, verification of identity, and other unusual circumstances. For more information and a quotation for our services, please call our offices.

Thanks,
