Legal Question in Insurance Law in California

misrepresentation by insurance broker

I own a glass co. & have been named in a class action suit. My scope of work for home builders is basically replacing glass in windows. The windows have been previously installed by other contractors, but broken/scratched due to vandalism or construction damage. The claims adjuster states I am not covered. I have worked with my broker for yrs & he definitely knows my scope of work and what coverage I need. He completed the applications & presented me the sig page to sign with verbal assurance of coverage because we only did maint, & repairs Not installation of original windows. Now he says that I didn't have ins. to work on tract homes & that it would have been expensive to have additional ins. He never presented actual paperwork, but along with his verbal reassurance, I felt confident because of certificates from ins carriers. Home builders require certificate of ins. prior to work being performed. What concerns me is my broker has admitted to marking no on the questionnaire inquiring if we work on tract homes. According to the Ca Ins Code Sect 780-781, is this misrepresentation? What can I do to cover myself now or with potential future class actions?
