Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

I've recently developed a commercial website which contains over 250 pages worth of original literary content (e.g. questions). This website also has unique and original applications/features which are embedded in the source code.

There is a lot of content I need to copyright. I'm aware that a database and source codes can be copyrighted (and they will be for my website) but how does one go about copyrighting all the other creative content?

And should everything mentioned above be included in [one] copyright application or [multiple] applications?

As in: should I copyright one portion of the website using one approach and then copyright other areas using another approach (referring to the copyright applications).

Thank You

Hello,

There are different categories for copyright material so it is necessary to view exactly what you are talking about to answer your question. For example, there is a specific application for source code (text), there is a specific application for performing arts, and there is a specific application for collective works (i.e., the arrangement of content).

So, in short, the answer is you will likely need multiple registrations.
