Legal Question in Employment Law in California

2 weeks notice

I live in California, if I give 2 weeks notice to company that I am leaving and I only have been here for 1 month can they let me go before the 2 weeks without paying?

Re: 2 weeks notice

Yes. Employers only have to pay you for time you worked. Many employers will not allow employees to stay after they've given notice. Check company policy to see if notice is expected. If not, it is safer to not give a two-week notice.

Of course, you quit, so they have no need to risk letting you stay.
