accounts rec deduction on final check

When I left emplymrnt on my final check there was a deduction for $750+ stating for accts. rec. I never signed an authorization for any deductions. Can they do this? lso they owe me $1000 for relocation expenses. Help...

Demand an accounting for the deduction from the employer. If there is no basis for the deduction you should contact the State Labor Commissioner's office nearest to you and file a claim. California prohibits deductions not authorized by you in writing. If you didn't receive all wages due to you at the time of separation, penalties may also be available to you as part of your claim.

File a claim with the Labor Commissioner and request penalties for non-payment.
