Legal Question in Employment Law in California

The company I work for was bought out, and the new company is willing to keep most of the employees. If i do not accept the position with the new company would I be able to receive unemployment while I look for another job?

It depends on how they structure the buy-out and handle the employee transitions. If they do it right you will not be able to qualify for unemployment if they offer to keep you on.
