Legal Question in Employment Law in California

If you have a doctors appointment, can a federal employer threaten to fire you if you go to it? Can a federal employer not comply with a doctors note? This happened in Pa., I now live in Ca. If i(and several others) have a case do I have to go back to Pa.

In CA, in general unless an employee is civil service, in a union, or has a written employment contract, they are an 'at will' employee that can be disciplined or fired any time for any reason, with or without cause, explanation or notice. Taking time off work will get you fired. You'd have to talk to a PA attorney to learn if the same rules apply.

Of course you 'd have to bring action in PA, if you have one. That is where the conduct occurred.
