Edd

Eployers that defraud the Employment development program. If they pay all administration personal 1099 and do not report wages for them is illegal. What consequences does this bring?

File a complaint with the EDD. They have a unit that audits employers that misclassify employees as independent contractors. If it is found they have misclassified employees, they will be subject to penalties, including having to pay the proper withholding taxes they should have paid.
