What do I do if I got facts mixed up due to not remembering events that happened long ago?

There's a jury instruction that advises jurors that people's memories are not perfect. It depends on the context of your factual mix-up. If it was at a deposition, you will have a chance to correct the transcript, although the other side could comment on your changed testimony at trial or elsewhere. If it's in a complaint that you filed, it can be amended to state the true facts. If in response to written discovery (interrogatories, document requests, etc.), then you could amend that written discovery.
