Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I was on FMLA but had my disability LOA extended for medical reasons under the California medical leave and paid by my company and state disability. I am back at work and my boss wants to give my job to a contractor he hired while I was gone. Is that legal?

Employers cannot retaliate against employees for having taken medical leave under the FMLA. If that is what is happening at this company, then no, it is not legal.
