Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I was hired as a house manager and the lady and I agreed verbally on a 20 dollar an hour salary agreeing to discuss a higher salary after a 2 week trial. I worked for a week and when it came time to pay me she fired me and said that since it was a trial all she would pay me would be 295.00 dollars when I actually worked 41 hours which would make it 820.00 dollars. I started work on a tuesday I was supposed to be payed friday but she said she would pay me monday. After my worked day was over she said I was fired. When I sent her my hours by email she said she was not going to pay me except 295.00 and that was only after I threaten her with a lawsuit. The only evidence I have is emails discussing the work I did that week but not our agreed upon salary. There are also emails with another employee who she refused to pay as well.

please advise

It appears that your former employer has violated numerous wage laws. Call an employment law attorney to discuss. Have the dates and hours you worked ready when you call. An attorney may very likely be able to get you the wages owed, plus penalties (money), at no cost to you. 949-481-6909.
