Are oral agreements binding in California? An agreement was made orally but not written down and signed. Is the oral agreement binding in California? In return for dropping an unfair labor practice charge, the plaintiff was given her classes back. Subsequently, the Dean reneged on the agreement and no classes were forthcoming.

Yes, oral agreements are just as binding as are written contracts. They are just more difficult to prove.
