Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I am a veterinarian in California. I was hired and my boss says I'm salaried. HOwever, I only work part-time and get paid for each hour I work. Am I really salaried? Or is my boss just saying that?

Not only are you not salaried, you are non-exempt from wage and hour laws regarding breaks and overtime, etc.
