Legal Question in Employment Law in California

If you work for a company(employer) outside of California, but still work in California due the laws still apllied as if you were working for a company(employer) inside California?

As my knowlege since I pay California taxes for whoever I work for in the United States the laws of California should still aplly. Correct?

What is happening is I am working for a company over 40 hours a week and they are only paying me based pay. Yes I signed a contract stating that I aknowlege that, but I still don't think it's right.

The company is based out of Gerogia.

Please help me!
