Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I work in a resturant and they are constantly taking my hours away and hiring new young servers I had 24 hours and now have 13 hours because of new young servers Is this legal?This is the second time since Feb.they have done this I got my hours back because all new young servers quit and they hired new one so they took them away again

It may be illegal if you are over the age of 40. If not, it is legal.

If you are over 40 and claiming age discrimination, your burden of proof is to show the adverse action is 'because of' your age. If you actually have evidence of that, not mere coincidence that you are over 40, feel free to contact me to discuss. Evidence would be documents or witnesses that show they talked about you being 'old', unable to do the job because of age, wanting pretty young things instead of old hags, etc, etc
