Is it wronful termination

My husband was fired because they say he was using the companys tools without their permision.he had no knowledge of this regulation(no regulation book was given) since he used his own personal tools and truck for company work he didnt think this was going to cause for his termination of employment is this wrongful termination? please advice

In CA, employees are at-will, which means they can be fired for no reason, or any reason so long as it's not an illegal reason like discrimination or whistle-blowing. If your husband's employer, for instance, is singling out people over 50 for termination, or Latinos, etc., that's illegal. If he's worked there forever, there might be an implied agreement that he can only be fired for good cause.
