Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

My attorney is asking me to sign off on a settlement letter which I feel is questionable. Total of $20k settlement inc. 8k med pay from USAA. He broke it down to 4k attorney fees, 5k medical reimbursement(negotiated amt) to Kaiser and chiropractor, 4k med pay reimbursement to USAA and 2k reimbursement to another provider. This leaves me all but 5k. Is this normal? I figure that outstanding medical bills are going to be further negotiated before being reimbursed. How would I know how much money is reimbursed exactly? Is medpay reimbursed back to insurance companies? Please help!

I'd have to review your underlying insurance polices to determine whether or not they contained a "priority clause," to tell you whether that is an appropriate settlement of the medical liens.
