Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Son loans car to unlicensed driver

My son (16yrs)loaned out the car, it was subsequently involved in an MVA. The driver was 18 and unlicensed with no insurance (Mother has insurance). Driver was cited and found at fault. My insurance paid the other cars damage and medical. However I am without a car (totaled) and the driver refuses to make any restitution. Do I have any grounds for compensation, if so how should i pursue.

Re: Son loans car to unlicensed driver

You have to sue him for the loss of the car and then try and collect.
