Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California

so ive been joking around immaturely with an ex by sending her text messages saying that im going to tell her current bf that we had sex unless she changes her number. we dated for a while, and we broke up, but i was annoyed that she continues to lie to him saying she is a virgin when shes not anymore. anyways, dumb and immature of me to send her text messages. i send her maybe 3 messages in the last year. anyways, now she filed a case with the police department and i got a call from them giving me a case number. they said that i was no longer allowed to text her as this was her desire, and that if i continued to message her, it would be a criminal matter and a misdemeanor. of course, i am going to stop immediately (i didnt know it was such a serious thing or that it was annoying her that much; i didnt know she was such a baby!!!) anyways, am i in serious trouble here? i dont want this on my record or anything.

At this point, it sounds as though all that has happened is a police report was made. If no criminal filing has taken place, you should not be in "serious trouble" as long as you cease all contact with her.

You're lucky you weren't arrested for 'threatening phone calls' which could be charged as a felony. Take the warning seriously, behave like a responsible adult, and you'll avoid a criminal record this time.
