Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Colorado

Civil Litigation - Lawsuit

I was accused of assualting someone when it was actually self defense. It all stemed from lies by the police, da, and the victim. All the criminal charges were dropped yesterday after I spent 7 months in jail. I want to sue for financial damages and attorney/legal fees. I need to find where and or how to get an appropriate attorney. Do I have to have money first to get money back?

There are many attorneys who will work on a contingency basis for this kind of case, assuming they find merit in it, which usually means the only expenses you have to front are court costs, and possibly expert witness fees.

Good luck.
