Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Connecticut

arrest records

I need to respond to a motion and would like to point out that a person's lengthy arrest record and their time incarcerated for repeated violations indicates they are in the habit of ignoring laws--specifically laws regarding driving without a license, registration, or insurance. Is this allowed if I attach that person's arrest record to the objection?

Re: arrest records

No, that's not allowed. You are attempting to use an "ad hominem" argument, meaning, you are attacking the man rather than his point. These types of arguments are disfavored in the courts.
