Legal Question in Traffic Law in Delaware

Speeding ticket

I was in Delaware recently when a police officer was driving the opposite way of me, made a u-turn and pulled me over. This being my first time ever being pulled over, I immediately did and the officer told me I was going 65 in a 35. I was a bit nervous considering it was my first time and all, but I don't believe i was going anywhere close to that and as a matter of fact I was slowing down because I had just seen the limit sign. My question though, since I didn't want to get myself into deeper trouble, is how can he clock me on the radar while driving in the opposite direction and is it possible or legal for the officer to do that? Also I am on my provisionals, which doesn't help me one bit.

Re: Speeding ticket

Yes, the police in Delaware have radar which works on the move going the opposite way. Yes it is legal. It sounds like maybe you were on US 13 near Harrington DE. If you are 18 or over, do not have a CDL and do not have any violations on your driver's license in the last 5 years you maybe eligible for "probation before judgment". If the case is successfully handled as a "probation before judgment" case the ticket would not appear on your driver's license record. Please feel free to e-mail me if you wish to discuss the matter further.
