Re: Abortion

with notification i think you are fine. go see your doctor. he or she will know the current state of the requirements. At 17, I think that you are the final decision maker, but your parents may need to be advised. Unless you have a fear of harm or something like that, it would be best if you spoke with your parents about this in any event. The decision to have an abortion is a big one and you should have their acvice, counsel and wisdom even if the final decision is yours (which it is). Hearing from others to be able to best make the decision is never a bad thing.

Re: Abortion

Yes, you may get an abortion as long as you have given a parent notice.

You may not get an abortion without notifying a parent. Florida Statute sections 390.01115 and 390.01116 provide that you must be 18 to have an abortion without parental notice. Though these sections were held unconstitutional by the Florida supreme court, the voters of Florida amended the Florida constitution in 2005, essentially overruling the supreme court.

If you don't want to notify your parents, and you still wish to have the abortion, Florida law allows a judge to give consent to an abortion without oarental notice. You can speak to a Family Lawyer or a local Pro-Choice advocacy group to learn more.
