Im 17 and i am currently living with my Aunt and i want to make her my legal guardian, but my legal guardian now, which is my Mother, refuses to sign her rights over, but i know i have reasons not live with her. Can she really do that and force me to move back home with her?

Re: legal guardianship

Based on what you said, your mother has custody. This will continue until a Court determines it should change. Unless your Aunt gains legal guardianship, your mother could require you to return to her residence. Unless the Department of Children and Families is involved based on abuse and/or neglect, it will be difficult for your Aunt to obtain legal guardianship against your mother's wishes.
