Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

I have a car lease in my name that has always been used and paid for by my ex-signifcant other when we lived together. We broke up and he has continued to make the payments, telling me that he can't afford to get a loan to get the car transferred into his name. He has been late on the last two payments and I am afraid this will begin to affect my credit rating. How can I get out of this?

Since it's a lease, you can always just turn over the car and tell him that you're going to have to turn it over because it may negatively affect your credit. It's up to you if you decide not to, since ultimately it's your credit that's on the line not his. Sometimes the dealer may allow you to have him take over the lease, but that's something you'll have to see if they'll do.
