Lunch

My work schedule is 8:30-5:30 with 1 hour for lunch. I only want 1/2 hour .If i work from 8:30-5:00 andget paid for 1/2 lunch will my employer be violating any laws? If i worked 8:30-4:30 with 1/2 hour for lunch will that violate any laws?

If your employer is not paying you for all hours worked, and you have being deducted for time (like a lunch break) which isnt being taken, then your employer would likely be violating the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) for any and all weeks in which you have worked over 40 hours (meaning worked overtime).
