Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

No Overtime Paid

My son's employer says he does not pay overtime. He works

7 to 6 Mon. thru Fri. Then on Sat. he gets what's called half time pay. This is about $5.15 per hour. Is this legal?

Re: No Overtime Paid

Depending on how your son's employer set up his employment relationship, it may or may not be legal to pay him this way. As a general rule, employees who are paid on an hourly basis are entitled to be paid time and a half their regular rate of pay for their overtime hours worked (hours over 40). As a result, it would be helpful to have additional facts to assist you. Please feel free to contact us at (561) 447-8888.
