Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Have not been paid for time worked

I worked for a start up internet company for 3 months. I left the company with one paycheck owed to me(due that week). This was Nov, 2001 and I still have not been paid. The company has since gone out of business, but on the dissolution papers filed, it states they made provisions for any outstanding debts. The owner has filed Chapter 13 and my claim has been denied through that. Do I have any recourse at all? He owes me 841.40 which is quite a sum of money. I'm just afraid that if I take him to court, based on the fact that he's already in BK, I'll also be out the court fees! Which direction do I head now?

You're in a bad spot and I would not advise suing your former ER, since they're already in bankruptcy. Just follow through with the bankruptcy proceedings until their complete in case additional funds become available to pay remaining debts. Sorry there's not better news for you . . .
