Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Not getting paid

I work as a subcontractor for a technical contractor out of Florida. Our checks are supposed to be cut and mailed at the first of every month. In December I never received a check for the work performed in November. What's my recourse?

Re: Not getting paid

Unless you have a contract with them that says otherwise, you can sue them in small claims court in the county where you live. The filing fee in NC is $65.00. You might want to write them a formal letter first demanding the payment and keep a copy of it for your records. Good luck.
