Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Florida

I have been being harrased by a funeral home since they picked someone who died in my house. This lady was staying with me for 2 months and is no relation to me whatsoever. Her daughter was in prison and was almost homeless when i took her in. THe funeral home has been harrassing me by saying i am responsible for paying the cost of cremation/burial. They even called me this past Sunday harrassing me again...Is this legal?

Here's the thing -- you may be responsible to pay the funeral home because you hired them to perform the services, which I am assuming they did. Notwithstanding, the deceased person's estate may be responsible to reimburse you for the cost of the funeral services. If the deceased was indigent, and the person's family is not around, you may not be able to be reimbursed. But, you must understand, that is not the funeral home's problem -- it is your responsibility to the funeral home to pay because you hired the funeral home.
