Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

We seven are former shipmates who served aboard the USS Hermitage LSD-34. Our reunion organization was formed as a DBA registered with the state of Florida. Every two years we have a three day reunion in different cities. There are often over one hundred participants. If someone should get injured either in the hotel, on a tour or somewhere else, are we (each of the seven directors) personally liable.

Perhaps. Actually, as a dba there really aren't directors. Directors go with corporations. Whether there can be liability depends on the specific facts.

If a participant is injured, he would have to prove that the organization was responsible for causing the injury, as opposed to the hotel or tour where the injury occured.

Seek liability insurance and have the members pay the cost of it.
