Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia

return authorization

I own a clothing store and was issued 3 return authorization numbers for various reasons from the designer. I returned the product with the RA #'s and now the designer will not issue me a credit and she has the merchandise I paid for. what legal recourse do I have?

Re: return authorization

If you cannot work it out with her on your own, have a local business attorney write a demand letter demanding either the merchandise or the money paid. If that doesn't work, you will have to file suit. If your claim is less than or equal to $15,000.00, you may consider filing in small claims (magistrate) court without an attorney.

Re: return authorization

You can take legal action. It probably will have to be wherever the designer is located. However, if the designer is in another state, the GA Long Arm Statute MAY give you some relief. Consult with a local attorney.
