my granddaughter is 6mth. the dad has not been in the picture until now by his choice. dna has proved he is dad. he now want to demand we change baby's last name to his. there is no chance of them marrying. he has had nothing to do with her until now. the mom used her last name. can he make us change her last name to his. the baby lives with mom and grand parents. they have started child support and we have offered visitation, so now he thinks he can order her around. one simple question, can he make us change the baby's last name? thanks, concerned grandmother.
