Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Changing an author's work

I wrote a short story and submitted it for a book of short story compilations. I bought a copy of the book and the story isn't the one I wrote. It's got some similarities, but they never said it would be edited or changed. They signed my name as the author. The story is horrible and I do not want my name attached to it. Do I have any legal recourse? I'm in Georgia, but the ''publisher'' is in another state.

The answer would depend on your contract, which no one here has seen.
