Lawsuit

How do you respond to a lawsuit? We've been sued by a individual that claims we promised him guaranteed income. It is frivilous but we must answer the lawsuit within the 30 days , next two weeks. Civil action lawsuit, tort (contract) business opportunity.

Being sued is a serious matter. If you respond ytourself there is a high likliehood that you wil lose, oftimes with disasterous consequences. Step one is you see a lawyer right away. Unless the amount is very small and the case very simple, you'll usually then want to retain counsel to represent you in the case.

There is no way to tell you how to file an answer. Plus, you may need to file a motion along with the answer or else risk waiving your right to do so. You should have a local attorney review the complaint and assist with your response.
