Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Deed change

What is the best/easiest to add my wife to the deed on the home that I owned prior to our marriage? Also, what impact would this action have on my two grown children?

Re: Deed change

Your wife can be added by signing a quit claim deed. You and wife will then be co-owners. The children will not have ownership interest if they do not have it now. Please call to get your quit claim deed. We offer same day service.

Re: Deed change

While a quitclaim deed will accomplish your goal, I believe that the "cleaner" practice (for title examination purposes) is for you to sign a deed with yourself as Grantor and both you and your wife as Grantees. I would advise "tenants with rights of survivorship". I would also advise that you get a local attorney to prepare this. It's usually pretty cheap (under $100.00).
