Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

Correct form

Due to the death of my mother last month, I am in the process of writing my own will to have on file. Can you have a Living Will and a Durable Power of Attorney be combined into one? Isn't the Durable Power of Attorney non-void after death? I need a form that will include a medical living will and a regular will regarding what my needs are for my estate. What can I use or what forms would I need to use for the combination of the both? Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Re: Correct form

Both the Living Will and Durable Power of Attorney expire on death. As to forms for these as well as your Will, you can search the Net, just as I can search for instructions as to how to re-attach my severed finger, if I had one. Attorneys can prepare all these documents fairly quickly and inexpensively. Consult with a local attorney.

Re: Correct form

There are no forms for wills and accompanying documents. There are documents you can obtain online, but they are incomplete and would need to be at least reviewed by an attorney. A power of attorney for health care and living will are similar and both are voided by a person's death. A living will sets out your medical treatment and a power of attorney for health care appoints someone to make those decisions on your behalf.
