Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

I received a house and about 26, 000 from my mother when she passed away. How much does the state of GA tax that? Is it income, because I had to spend a significant portion to settle her affairs?

Your mother's affairs should have been settled through your mother's estate, not through your inheritance from her estate. If you have not consulted a Georgia probate attorney, I strongly recommend that you do so immediately.
