Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Idaho

medical bill collection

I was in an accident three years ago and never received a bill for the ambulance. I assumed it was part of the hospital bill or my insurance had taken care of it. 3 years later i receive a bill from a collection agency with interest. I called the agency with questions but did not begin payments because I was confused. About 3 or 4 months later they called and harassed me. I still took no action and now 2 months after that I received a summons for an $800.00 bill with interest and attorney fees 1400.00. My bill was never submitted to insurance, if the hospital knew were I was why didn't the ambulance service? I realize I should have done something sooner but the collections agency was so mean. What do I do now? Settle? or Court?

I am not authorized to practice law in your state. However, it is a serious matter and I think you should discuss this matter with a lawyer in your state immediately. Since a law suit has begun the matter is urgent.
