Will a contract between the buyer and seller of an automobile hold up if it is sent through email and not faxed?

A contract between the buyer and seller of an automobile can be valid even if it is not written. I therefore see no reason why transmission by e-mail rather than facsimile would invalidate the contract.

Of course, the contract might have a clause in it stating that it shall be valid only when transmitted by facsimile, or only if printed on purple paper. So, I can't give you a complete answer without seeing the contract.
