Im 17 and want to move out badly. I was going to get emancipated but my parents wont approve and are willing to fight me in court. I want to know what the legal adult age is in Illinois?

Re: Moving out

18. You are free on your birthday.

If you want to pursue emancipation, feel free to give us a call. If your birthday is within the next few months, you are probably better off waiting. The exception would be if you are in any physical danger or if there is any abuse occuring in your home. In the latter case, I would encourage you to call us and/or contact the department of child and family services (DCFS).
