Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

What am I entitled to living in a common law marriage relationship?

I have been living in a common law marriage situation with a man for 28 years. I have been a homemaker for 98% of the time and we have 3 children together whom are all over the age of 18. We own a home and I am not sure how it happened (busy raising children or stupidity) but the house is not in my name but there has never been a question that half the house belongs to me. I live in the state of Illinois and would like to know what I am entitled to? I believe he also owns half of a business but he lies so much that I am also unsure of that. My health is poor and I am unable to support myself and so I am also inquiring if I am entitled to ''alimony'' or some type of support? I would be so grateful if you can advise me on these matters.

Regards,

C. Craft

Common law marriages are not legally recognized in Illinois. You have a lot of issues to parse out. Go see an attoreny.
