Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

my 36 year old son is employed as a software salesman. Two months ago he closed a $1,000,000 sale which should have given him a $60,000 commission. The company he works for is in poor financial condition due to the economy. The company says that they do not have any money to pay his commission. He has a written compensation plan which the company is now reneging on. What can my son do to get his money?

Earned commissions are absolutely treated as wages in Illinois. I would be happy to talk with your son about this situation.
